Barbara’s background is in science and innovation, as well as general commercial law. She holds a science degree specialising in forestry and a law degree from one of the top ten law schools in Canada. In Canada she practiced corporate and commercial law as an associate at a top tier law firm and as a sole practitioner.
Barbara was the sole in-house counsel and Company Secretary of a forestry based Crown Research Institute in New Zealand for over ten years. Since then she has worked for other Crown Research Institutes, research organisations and IT companies. She understands the complex technical and legal issues associated with technology development and commercialisation.
